Our Week

Well we had another busy week at the Schloss household. I managed to remember to take a few photos of our crazy week so here goes. Monday we had some great friends over for dinner and family home evening. We had a lesson on temples and then we got to make temples out of marshmallows and toothpicks. Everyone had such a great time, thanks Debbie for preparing the lesson and activity.

Everyone hard at work.

Audrey and Daddy's temple. I think Audrey ate her weight in marshmallows but definitely had a lot of fun. The girls, Debbie and Danna working hard. I think Danna ate just as many marshmallows as Audrey, it is a wonder either one of them ever went to bed that night. Sydney's creation not quite finished.
The next morning Tuesday was our first day of school. It has been a much anticipated day at our house the last few weeks. They were so excited we had to even have extra special hair just for the occasion. Here are pictures of Kennedy's special braid. It was the first time I had ever done this kind and she was very excited. Here is our class schedule. Everyone works on the activities that are the same color at the same time. This is a totally new system this year and really seems to be working out well. They did so good this week I am super proud of all of them. I bet you never had a subject like Audrey at your school. That is the girls favorite subject haha. We do science on Fridays and history, music and art during the week with friends. This is our Monday thru Thursday schedule.
Here are the pictures of my library that I said I would post a while a go. I separated all of my books by category and then color coded them and the shelves. Here is a closer look at how the labels work. I totally love how nice and organized the books are. We have a book return that the girls can put the book in and once a week someones job is to put them all back. Thanks so much Lindsey for helping me come up with the system!!! Here they all are in their desks waiting for school to start. So cute!
As a reward for the first day of school we took the girls out to dinner. Now if you know my family we don't do this very often because four kids out to dinner is expensive. Well we had a super good reason to go today it was Whataburger's 60th birthday and they were giving away free burgers if you wore orange. I don't know if they have them other places but they are terrific burgers but super expensive, I think I have only eaten their maybe four times in my whole life so this was a big treat. Jerame dug around in closets and bins of clothes in the garage for about an hour to find everyone orange while we were at history class in the afternoon (we have all girls not the popular a color around here). But totally worth it. The girls had a blast and thought they were the best burgers they had ever had at a restaurant.
Audrey seriously ate a whole tomato with a side of hamburger. She is such a funny kid.

Here is everyone else decked out in orange enjoying our dinner.

Check out how huge those burgers were. They are the size of two McDonald's burgers.

Overall the meal cost us $4.60 for the two large fries and we saved like $22. My kind of meal!!

The last big even that I have pictures of is Sydney got glasses. (We bought a new car on Friday but I haven't taken any pictures yet I will try to do that next week.) She is so excited to have glasses she thinks they make her look smart. All her sisters are totally jealous and want some too. Kinda hard to explain to them they should be so lucky not to have them.

Anyway here she is.

Looks great! - And Sydney looks so cute in her glasses. Lindy wants glasses too - her cousin has some and then with Sydney getting them too....and I also tried to explain why we should be thankful that we DON'T have glasses....I don't know that she believed me. :)
