Kennedy
We have breaking news that just had to interrupt my catch up posts. I am not done with those but we had to sneak this in. Kennedy lost her first tooth yesterday.
The silly girl didn't even realize it was wiggly until she went to bed Sunday night and it was really wiggly. She worked on it all day on Monday. Yesterday she finally came to me and asked me to pull it out. She was a little nervous because Sydney told her it was going to hurt a little but she put on a brave face and let me try. It came right out but I think it hurt more than she thought it was gonna because she didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Honestly she did a little of both. I officially have two children losing teeth and this just makes me feel older. Seriously I wish my kids would stop getting bigger!!!
After everything calmed down I looked over at Audrey and she had gotten a tissue and she was trying to pull out her own tooth. She kept saying "my turn". Such a funny girl.

California Part 2
Our next big adventure in California was we went to Solvang. It is this super cute old Dutch town. Lots of neat shops and places to eat.
We had fun going to a few of the shops and having lunch. The shops are not super stroller friendly because they are so small so we left Jerame and Audrey outside for most of them. In front of one of the shoe stores there was a large wooden clog that the girls thought would be so fun to sit in.
The girls favorite part of the whole day was they each got to pick out a handful of salt water taffy and we got ice cream cones because it was quite a warm day outside. Much warmer than we are use to at my Nana's house. Overall a fun day but we will definitely wait till the kids are older to go back. Here is the one family picture we took the whole time we were on vacation.
When we got home from Solvang we went out to the garden and did our daily picking. The girls loved doing this. Sydney the least of all because the first day she went out there she got her favorite dress caught on the fence and it put a little whole in her dress. She was not very happy and pretty much avoided the garden the rest of the trip. Kennedy on the other hand loved picking the tomatoes. She was really good at digging through the branches and finding the red ones. i know she is holding a green one in the picture but that was actually on purpose.
All of the green tomatoes were for my pregnant craving of fried green tomatoes. My fabulous Nana was so nice and indulged me. She will hate this picture she doesn't like having her picture taken but it is the only one I got of her the whole trip:)
While we cooked in the kitchen the girls ran through the sprinklers. They had so much fun because it was the first time they had done this all summer because our yard is still dirt.
These are some very wet, soggy girls. It was actually quite cool too. Poor Audrey and Kennedy had blue lips when they were all done but boy did they have a good time.
The next day we continued out tradition of picking lemons off of Nana's lemon trees and juicing a ton of them to take home lemon juice. The girls love homemade lemonade and it is so yummy with fresh lemons from Nana's yard.
This pretty much wrapped up our trip. We just love going to CA and spending time with our family. I feel so lucky to have such a great Nana! I love you Nana and we can't wait to come back again soon!!!!

Cooking class
This should really be before CA but I am still learning the blogging thing.
For school this year the girls wanted to add a cooking class. Some friends of ours had cooking class over the summer and the girls thought it looked like so much fun they wanted in. Our first attempt was chocolate covered frozen bananas. The girls had so much fun rolling them in chocolate and peanuts and they were so good to eat!!! I would totally make these again. Easy, yummy, and healthy too right, because of the bananas. LOL
Cooking class was a huge hit and the girls are looking forward to our next class. Hopefully I will remember to take pictures next time too.
Here we are all set up. Frozen bananas, melted chocolate and crushed peanuts.
California Part 1
Okay time for some catch up posting. I am only a month behind. haha Oh well things have been so busy around here lately. A month ago we went to California for vacation. I love my husbands job he gets 4 weeks of vacation a year and we try to go visit our family in CA at least two times a year sometimes more if we can swing it. The girls love it there and it is so nice to have great family to go and visit. We stay with my Nana and she has this amazing backyard that the girls love to play in. The first morning we were there we got to see bunnies in the yard which might seem all cute and great except they are totally killing her grass and ruining her yard. The girls decided they would go scare the bunnies away and off they went with brooms and rakes for the hunt.
They were way to funny out there looking through the bushes in there jammies. Shockingly they never did find any bunnies:)
Our next big adventure was the beach. It was a beautiful sunny day but there was a definite cold breeze blowing. It didn't seem to finder the girls at all they had great time.
Kennedy worked very hard on these sandcastles and had to redo them numerous time because of her lovely little sister who thought it was funny to step on them.
It was a great sunny afternoon at the beach and I had a lovely sunburn to prove it. haha
After our beach adventure we went to my Uncle's fun pool to swim. My Aunt and Uncle live on the same street as my Nana so it makes visiting super easy and extra fun. The girls love the pool because it has a great slide and beach front entry which makes it easy for playing.
Delaney and Kennedy braving the slide. Delaney was not quite so sure about the whole thing and wouldn't go down by herself at first. Kennedy was a nice sister and said she would be happy to help her.
Dare devil Sydney going head first. She loves the water and had to have gone down the slide 25 times. She slept really good this night.
Part one. To be continued.......
Audrey braved the cold water but only for a second.
Daddy and Audrey, look at those happy smiles.

Poached Eggs
So for those of you who know my family well we love cooking shows. 90% of the time that the t.v. is on it is on The Food Network Channel. Yesterday we were watching a show and they made poached eggs. The girls all thought it was the coolest thing ever and when I said we were having breakfast for dinner tonight they all asked if we could make poached eggs. I figured it looked easy on t.v. I would give it a try. I have personally never eaten a poached egg but I was pleasantly surprised with the out come. I always thought they would be gooey or kinda a weird consistency but they were great. All of the kids liked them too. We made a take on eggs benedict. We put English muffins on the bottom, bacon next and the poached egg on top. My husband vetoed the hollandaise sauce so I left that out because it seemed like a lot of work if I was the only one who was going to eat it. Here is a picture of Sydney's plate, we chose hers because she had the prettiest egg.
